The biggest deficit I see in students of all ages is their ability to write and analyze. Often, when tasks are formulaic, students can adapt; However, when presented with new challenges, students lack the ability to plan and structure writing that meets the task.

I often work with students during long school breaks to complete more intensive writing sessions. I use presentations, tests, and homework to create curriculum which not only aligns with their immediate goals, but also enables them to prepare for more rigorous tasks. Students are given weekly assignments, and each week we review strengths and weaknesses to continue improving.
